Semarang- Dengan jumlah penduduk lebih dari 262 juta jiwa, Indonesia berpeluang menjadi negara dengan kekuatan ekonomi ke-7 dunia pada 2030 dan ke-4 dunia pada tahun 2050. Karenanya pendidikan tinggi diarahkan demi tercapainya pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan mendorong lulusan yang mampu menciptakan lapangan kerja melalui kewirausahaan (entrepreneur) untuk mengatasi pengangguran terstruktur.
Hal tersebut diungkapkan Menristekdikti Mohamad Nasir saat menjadi pembicara kunci pada seminar nasional di Politeknik Negeri Semarang, Sabtu (15/9). Seminar sendiri mengambil tema “Brand Yourself to be Young Success Technopreneur”.
“Di dalam data persentase tenaga kerja Indonesia saat ini, 42% adalah angkatan kerja dengan pendidikan rendah, namun persentasenya akan terus menurun, artinya pendidikan lulusan mulai berubah dan menjadi lebih baik. Untuk bonus demografi, manakala tidak dimanfaatkan dengan baik akan menjadi malapetaka. Karena itu peningkatan kompetensi SDM amat penting, oleh karena itu pendidikan harus match dengan industri, agar daya saing bangsa meningkat, selain tentunya juga Technology Readiness Level harus ditingkatkan, kalau rendah, inovasi akan rendah pula,” ungkapnya.
Lanjut Nasir, tantangan juga semakin sulit, apalagi menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0. Menurutnya kita harus mulai dengan cara open mind, open heart, dan open willing agar tantangan diatasi dengan baik.
Pada kesempatan itu, Nasir jelaskan eranya kini mulai berubah agar bisa kompetitif, ekonomi digital mengambil peranan penting. Contoh paling terlihat adalah konsep sharing economy yang dilakukan gojek dan ekspansinya ke luar negeri, maupun marketplace seperti bukalapak.
“Muncul teknologi baru yang mengakibatkan perubahan luar biasa di semua disiplin ilmu, ekonomi, dan industri. 75% pekerjaan melibatkan kemampuan sains, teknologi, teknik dan matematika, internet of things, oleh karenanya lulusan perguruan tinggi harus siap untuk digital challenge dan memiliki digital talent. Lulusan Politeknik utamanya nanti tidak hanya mendapatkan ijazah, tetapi memiliki sertifikat profesi,” jelasnya.
Nasir juga tekankan bahwa di dunia industri kini harus selalu membawa pemikiran good things making good products, making people then making products. Konsep pembentukan SDM tersebut harus dijalankan untuk menghadapi persaingan di era revolusi industri 4.0, terutama untuk mencapai link and match dengan dunia industri.
“Yang tak kalah penting adalah memahami literasi baru. Literasi lama (membaca, menulis, dan berhitung) sebagai modal sudah didapatkan. Sekarang harus belajar literasi baru, yaitu literasi data, literasi teknologi, dan literasi manusia (humanities, komunikasi, berpikir positif). Setelah itu lakukan belajar sepanjang hayat,” papar Nasir.
Untuk mendukung hadapi revolusi industri 4.0, lanjutnya, pola Politeknik pun kini mulai menerapkan pola Multi Entry Multi Exit (MEME). Semua program adalah Diploma IV. Multi Entry berarti masuk program bisa awal tahun pertama, awal tahun kedua, awal tahun ketiga, atau awal tahun keempat. Multi Exit berarti keluar program bisa akhir tahun kedua, akhir tahun ketiga, atau akhir tahun keempat. Setiap mahasiswa menyelesaikan setiap tahapan Diploma II, Diploma III atau Diploma IV mendapatkan ijazah yang sesuai. Kemudian disamping mendapatkan ijazah, mahasiswa juga mendapatkan sertifikat kompetensi, apabila mereka lulus dalam tes/ujian sertifikasi. (DZI)
